Claude Lelouch’s Rendezvous

September 3, 2006

Read about it in the pages of GQ, Rendezvous is 8 minutes of what seems to be a Ferrari racing through the streets of Paris. I must agree with them, its just plain cool. It was created in 1976 but its been getting a lot of buzz. Worth checking out.

écurie25 Super Club

This idea has been popping around the internet. Memberships for people who wanna rent out things they normally can’t afford (like Shoulder Candy, renting out Designer purses for a flat fee) But this idea is more to my liking. A great idea from écurie25 for you posers who like to pretend theyre more rich than they actually are and wanna pimp out in a F430, Gallardo or a 911 turbo without having to shelf-out the full price for one. The great thing about this idea is that you won’t have to be stuck with one car for the whole year so if you wanted to, you could have an Aston Martin one week and a Bentley the next. Here’s how écurie25 works:

In return for the yearly membership fee (roughly 17,000 cdn [8800 pounds]) , members are allocated 600 points. These points are then traded for time in their choice of supercars.

The cars are split into three categories. Our Ferrari F430 Spider resides in f1, while our Lotus Exige falls into f3. f1 cars enjoy a higher point value than f2 or f3 cars.

During the summer months, the point value of a car is greater than during winter, similarly weekends attract a higher point value than weekdays.

The concept is simple, the possibilities are endless.

Currently écurie25 is only available in the Greater London area but I wouldn’t be suprised to see this idea expanding in New York City, Hong Kong or LA (more of the image conscious cities ;-))
